As a kid, Mark was already fine-tuning the skills that would ultimately make him so successful in business and real estate. He didn’t just play Monopoly by relying on lucky rolls; he dominated by consistently negotiating deals that always swung in his favor. By nine, he was entering tournaments because he had run out of people—adults included—who could offer a challenge.
Mark was so successful that he decided to make some real money. He blanketed the neighborhood with flyers offering to mow lawns. His marketing was so successful that he soon had too many clients and it seemed all he did was yard work—something he didn’t even like. Looking for the most efficient solution, Mark hired friends to mow for him and dedicated his time to things he enjoyed doing.
By the time he was 13, one of his favorite hobbies—taking apart and rebuilding his family’s computers—led to his next business venture: a company that provided computer repair, web design, and consulting to its clients. For this business, Mark created his first of many websites and received hands-on experience with marketing through advertisements in local publications and business cards.
While attending Northern Illinois University, Mark took a job at an apartment complex. It was supposed to be a typical student job running the front desk, but Mark knew the business could be run more efficiently. He helped the company leave behind typewriters and handwritten ledgers and go digital. An extensive database Mark created to record and store payment information for the complex’s 550 units is still used by the company today.
In addition to the digital upgrade, the complex received a large boost in customer service. Mark made it a point to remember tenants’ names and to really listen to and understand what they wanted. Even though this was only a college job, it built the foundation of his later success in real estate.
With his father (a real estate instructor) as his mentor, it didn’t take long for Mark to build a reputation as an agent who delivered what his clients were looking for at the best price.
When the market tanked, his entrepreneurial experience allowed him to adapt and run a successful property management company during the downturn before selling it to concentrate all his attention on what he really loved— residential and investment real estate brokerage.
I have been a small business owner for 15 years and I understand what it means to be successful in this ever-changing market. I am the mother of 2 grown children, my daughter is 32, she is mother to my two beautiful grandkids, Kadie 5 and Kain 9. My son is 22, just graduated from college, 2nd Lt Army. I have been married for 24 years to the love of my life. My husband John and I, reside in Sycamore with my other family members; Molly the Weimeraner, Sweetie the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and Princess the kitty cat.
Prior to becoming a broker with Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, Southwood Team, I was a pet groomer for 15 years. My love of grooming and dogs and cats, helped me make my decision to open my own business. I still own a very successful pet grooming business, today. I know what it means to invest your time and money in your family’s future.
I have bought and sold real estate for over 20 years. I have been the client. I have had the brokers that did not listen to my concerns or show up when needed. I believe this inspired me to “be present” for my clients. It gives me joy to help others make their dreams come to fruition. I am proud to be part of a team that prides itself on quality, integrity and success!
I am here to make your real estate choices become the decisions you are proud of.

Since I was young, I have been interested in real estate due to moving and relocating all over the country. Because of these moves, I had numerous opportunities to witness real estate transactions from both the buyer and seller’s point of view. This has given me a unique perspective and I’m excited to share my experiences with you.
Previously, I attended Northern Illinois University in 2006 and graduated with a degree in education. I put my degree to work for a few years before transitioning to my other passion, real estate. If you’re looking for a highly motivated agent that will work hard for your best interests, look no further.
Your goals are important to me, which is why I go above and beyond for every client. I am continually building my industry skills and relationships so that when you succeed, we succeed, which is why I look forward to working with you. You could say “real estate” and “construction” is in my blood!!! As a youngster, my mother worked for a well known suburban custom home builder, and I loved looking at the blueprints and then walking through the beautiful completed homes. After college, marriage and raising two boys- now in college, I followed in my mother’s footsteps and was a top saleswoman for a large production home builder building in the suburbs. I loved finding just the right home at just the right price for the first-time homebuyer, the move-up homebuyer, and the empty nester. When the downturn in new construction came, I followed a different path of employment for a few years, but couldn’t stay away from real estate for long, obtained my license, and have been helping my friends and neighbors buy and sell their homes ever since.
